Ilene V. Fishman, LCSW, ACSW, FAED (Fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders), has maintained a general psychotherapy practice with a specialization in the treatment of eating disorders for 39 years. An NYU School of Social Work graduate, Ilene trained and was on staff at the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia (CSAB) and is currently a supervisor there. While serving on the national board of the American Anorexia Bulimia Association (AABA), Ilene helped found NEDA, the National Eating Disorders Association, recognized as the nation’s foremost authority and resource for both individuals and families. Ilene served on NEDA's Executive Board of Directors and as a clinical advisor for many years. Ilene is currently on the Board of Directors of ProjectHEAL. Ilene taught the first Masters level eating disorder elective class in New York City at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University as an Adjunct Professor. Ilene is in private practice in New York City and Montclair, NJ and published her first book, entitled THE DEEPER FIX: For Your Growth & Empowerment in 2020.
